This is an opportunity to sponsor a world-class piano symposium

This project (shortly to become a registered charity) not only encourages artistry and passion in piano performance at the highest level, but will  be an important provider of  inspiring education initiatives for pianists at all stages of development and background by some of the most distinguished names in the world of music and science.

We aim to reach a physical audience of around 350 per day for three days, and the event will be streamed to the music conservatoires and universities of Europe, North America, and the wider world.  Furthermore, outreach programmes will be established to target people of all ages and backgrounds  in less advantaged communities.  However, this cannot be achieved without the support and funding of  friends, benefactors and patrons.

The London International Piano Symposium is the first of its kind to bring together distinguished researchers from across the globe, such as neuroscientists, human movement scientists, academics from musical circles, and performers to unify the mental and physical skills which underpin piano performance.

We therefore ask you to join us in our work and help to shape the future of piano performance both at home and internationally.

In 2013, the first global symposium was an enormous success. Researchers and performers came from around the world to present papers to address both mental and physical issues in piano performance. It was underwritten in part by the founder & director, Cristine MacKie, musicologist & performance tutor at Royal Holloway, University of London, currently the No 1 music dept in the UK, delegates from around the world, and support in kind by Steinway Hall, the Royal College of Music. To run the symposium through 2014 to 2019 in order to broaden what we have achieved so far, means securing your support.
